DRI Canada Fall Symposium | Gatineau, Quebec

DRI Canada invites experienced professionals and industry leaders to submit presentation proposals for our upcoming Fall Symposium in Gatineau (November 12).

This national event brings together senior practitioners in business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience to share practical insights, challenge thinking, and strengthen Canada’s collective preparedness.

We are seeking senior-level presentations that go beyond theory and demonstrate the real-world application of the DRI Professional Practices.

We welcome submissions that address:

  • Application of Professional Practices
    • Case studies demonstrating implementation, challenges, and measurable outcomes
    • Integration of continuity, cyber resilience, and enterprise risk
  • Lessons Learned
    • Post-incident reviews (cyber, natural disasters, infrastructure failures)
    • What worked, what didn’t, and what changed as a result
  • Emerging and Current Risks to Canada
    • Economic disruption (trade instability, supply chain shocks, tariffs)
    • Cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure
    • Climate-driven events and large-scale evacuations
    • Misinformation and public confidence during crises
  • Leadership and Decision-Making Under Pressure
    • Executive-level accountability and governance during incidents
    • Ethics in crisis management
    • Navigating competing priorities and incomplete information
  • Innovation and Future Readiness
    • Use of AI and emerging technologies in resilience programs
    • Scenario design and large-scale exercises (including national-level simulations)
    • Workforce readiness, succession, and capability building
  • Cross-Sector and National Coordination
    • Public-private collaboration
    • Interdependencies across sectors (energy, telecom, finance, transportation)
    • Regional and national response alignment

We welcome and encourage submissions in both English and French and from all professionals working in or with the business continuity / disaster recovery / emergency management profession.
